Vacancy: web editor (per direct)

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic web editor who will be responsible for the content management of web magazines, web sites and email newsletters, in close collaboration with their editor-in-chiefs and/ or our clients.

The position of magazine editor/writer involves:

  • compiling content to appear in web magazines and email newsletters;
  • producing email newsletters;
  • conducting background web research as necessary;
  • editing, rewriting and/or writing web texts (written mostly by non-native English authors) that will be accessible to a broad professional audience;
  • ensuring that web content is up-to-date and supervising bulk content uploading;
  • other activities depending background and experience.

While writing experience is not essential, applicants should be able to demonstrate solid editing and research skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to providing key information for development policy makers and practitioners. The work requires someone who is self-motivated and quick to learn, able to work effectively under pressure, and who can deliver attractive, accurate material to strict deadlines.

The successful candidate will be a native English speaker with

  • a degree in a relevant field, preferably in an agricultural subject or economics, within in the context of international cooperation;
  • 3 years experience as an web editor, preferably in an organization active in international development
  • an interest in multimedia productions;
  • (preferably) a working knowledge of French and/or Spanish;
  • a valid EU work permit;
  • a sense of humour.

This in-house position for 32 hours per week. The successful candidate will be offered an initial fixed-term contract (period negotiable), with the possibility of extension. The remuneration package is highly competitive, commensurate with experience.
